I recommended the book to a friend, and we both bought the new versions, and will be working through it some more. She provides the proper context for Washington's beliefs by exploring the religious environment in which he lived - 18th century Virginian Anglicanism. The illustrations are fun and colorful and the story is really cute.. I enjoyed the book, it has lots of good information and was really easy to use and to understand.A. Nonetheless, I would not suggest jettisoning more familiar ways of looking at Scripture in favor of "the land."
