David Close is Professor of Political Science at Memorial University in St. He is the author of Nicaragua: The Chamorro Years (Lynne Reinner Publishers, 1999) and is co-author with Eric Mintz and Osvaldo Croci of Politics, Power and the Common Good: An Introduction to Political Science, second edition (Pearson, 2009).
