The opening pages of the novel showcase a timeline titled ‘A Brief History of Superheroes’ that combines the history created within this universe with true historical events, making it easy to accept this world as truth. On the other hand, there are too many "Christian-lite" books (I'll be nice and not name names) which touch on Christian themes, but lack the depth to really challenge the faithful. With his rather bold title, The Jesuit Guide to (Almost) Everything, James Martin, SJ looks like he would fall in the latter category. This is not a criticism, but rather a point of praise: The book intelligently synthesizes techniques for innovation drawn from a wide range of sources to provide an up-to-date set of conceptual tools. Over all it was well written with plenty of movie and comic book references. It's worth it as it's a great book and you'll have a better overview of all the characters. I really liked this book. The author could have given more details about Korbx, or the solvers available ( like AMPL, public domain interior point solvers), so that the reader is made aware the concepts dealt in the book is useful even for users of LP.. His review of Husserl's work and his comparison of Klein and Husserl's understanding of the emergence of modern symbolic mathematics is equally engaging. The Caroline series
